The farm has been in the family for many generations and has been farmed as organically as possible since 2001. Alltygrug was a dairy farm milking around 40 cows. Since 2004 we have switched to organic beef farming by keeping 35 suckler cows and their calves.
The farm was run under an environmental scheme call “Tir Gofal”. This scheme encouraged the preservation of habitats for birds and all kinds of wildlife. Although this scheme has since ended, the ethos for managing the farm still remains. We have two wildfowl ponds that provide a haven for wild mallard, moorhen, dragonflies and butterflies. Red Kites have also been seen in abundance around the farm for the last few years.
